GREAT FREE CHRISTMAS CRAFT IDEAS FOR KIDS

from:

During the holiday season while you are decorating the tree and the house, climbing ladders and cooking for others, you may wish to involve your children so they do not feel left out. There are many free Christmas craft ideas for kids that can make them feel included as well as create warm memories they will surely remember throughout their lives.

You can find many free Christmas craft ideas for kids online, as well as in this article. Ideas such as homemade greeting cards, sock snowmen and the ever popular paper or cloth snowflakes can either be used to help you decorate your own house or can be given as gifts from your children to others. Grandparents and other close relatives especially love getting homemade gifts from kids to treasure and even decorate their own house with. There is also free Christmas craft ideas for kids that can be used to decorate the family Christmas tree such as popcorn on a string and picture frames made from popsicle sticks. A kid will feel special knowing they have added their own unique look to the tree and oftentimes families will add newly crafted ornaments to the trees over the years. More free Christmas craft ideas for kids include paper cup garland with bells and glitter and every kid’s favorite holiday craft… the gingerbread house!

Because some free Christmas craft ideas can be messy and can often include glue, you should make sure that an area has been set up especially for the occasion. Old shirts and jeans can be worn to ensure that clothing remains undamaged. Make sure all needed materials are bought and prepared ahead of time so the kids can immerse themselves in the projects and fully enjoy their creativity. Be mindful of materials that are safe for kids or require adult supervision.

If more than one child is involved, you should determine ahead of time whether they would work on the same project separately or help each other and create a craft together. Both working independently and together are great for kids. By helping one another they can learn the importance of teamwork and by working independently they can gain a full sense of accomplishment. Perhaps the types of crafts can be alternated to allow for both methods of creation. There are more than enough free Christmas craft ideas for kids to try alone or with groups.

Lastly, be sure to take the time during the busy holiday season to not only appreciate the work of art that your children have created, but to make a ceremony about the placement of the craft on the tree, mantle, etc. Hopefully both the craft making as well as the ceremonies will become a cherished part of each holiday season.
